Information for Candidates

Vote411.org

Vote411.org, a nonpartisan voter information program administered by the national, state, and county levels of the League of Women Voters, provides detailed information on races, ballot measures, polling sites, candidate forum recordings, and more, specific to each home address. All candidates for office in general, primary, special, and the village elections run by the Westchester County Board of Elections are invited to follow a weblink to populate the site with information about their candidacies. Once Vote411.org goes “live” for the election, residents can type in their home address to view the information each candidate has provided in response to the league questions. Candidates are able to reach and inform thousands of prospective voters through this trusted source, at no cost to them or the public.

Additional information and forms for candidates may be found on the Running for Office page of the Westchester Board of Elections website.

Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee

The Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee (FCPC) is a separate, independent volunteer-run organization, originally established by LWVW in 1991, to to promote a climate in which candidates conduct honest, fair and open campaigns, refraining from dishonest and defamatory attacks and without distorting the facts. FCPC holds hearings and issues findings concerning complaints filed. LWVW plays no role in FCPC’s deliberations or decisions.

Contact faircampaigns@gmail.com with questions or to file a complaint. Visit FCPC’s website for more information.
