Moderator Training

Candidate forums are essential components of voter service but we cannot offer them without moderators!

LWVW holds group moderator trainings periodically as well as 1:1 trainings scheduled for the mutual convenience of the trainer and trainee. Trainings are free of charge. Additional training videos that can be watched as refreshers or introductions are available below. Once trained, you will be eligible to serve as a moderator for any Westchester County or local league candidate forum for races outside of your voting district.

This year’s moderator trainers are Deborah Reisner and C. Michele Shivers, both of LWV of Rye/Rye Brook/Port Chester. To sign up for one of the three scheduled group trainings in September and October 2025 via Zoom, please complete the Moderator Training RSVP form (also embedded below). Make sure you click the purple “Submit” button when finished. Expect an email from Debbie Reisner with the Zoom link for you to attend the session. If you are not able to attend any of the already scheduled trainings, please email westchesterlwv@gmail.com to let us know your interest in being trained to serve as a moderator and Michele Shivers will be in touch to coordinate a 1:1 session.
