This year’s topic is Appreciating Peace and Promoting Non-violence: the Role of the UN and Local Youth Movements. \n\n\n\nMichael Kingsley-Nyinah\n\n\n\nKeynote Speaker: Michael Kingsley-Nyinah in conversation with Ambassador Francis Okelo\, Former UN Special Envoy for Peace* \n\n\n\n*Mr. Michael Kingsley-Nyinah is currently Director of the Central and Southern Africa Division in the UN Secretariat Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations (DPPA/ DPO). He has served the UN for nearly three decades in senior leadership roles in political and legal advice\, and refugee protection\, in armed conflict\, emergency and headquarters contexts\, and across the domains of humanitarian\, political\, human rights\, and development work. DESCRIPTION:Strive to Thrive: Unlocking Your True Potential \n\n\n\nThe Westchester County Youth Bureau invites high school girls throughout Westchester County to come together to be empowered in celebration of International Day of the Girl. The event will feature engaging and educational workshops\, guest speakers\, and performances. \n\n\n\nLWVW will host a table and deliver a Vote 18 workshop in celebration of International Day of the Girl. Contact westchesterlwv@gmail.com to volunteer. \n\n\n\nYouth must be registered by schools to attend this free conference with adult chaperones. Space is limited.
